Self-assessment questions for parents:

  • Do I often scold my child for not concentrating on studies?

Discovering child's interest is very important to improve academic performance and overall capabilities
of a child:

Interest plays a very important role in developing concentration & attention. We have to think and devise ways and means to develop and sustain interest among children in studying different school subjects and participating in a variety of activities.

Logical way is to relate school learning experiences to the interest of the child. As a parent, you can discover your child's interest through the following:

  • Teacher may also watch for attentiveness during a classroom lesson.

You may give your child interest options listing a large number of activities and ask him/her to rank these from the most preferred to the least preferred
The ability to develop mental alertness is also essential skill that needs to be developed among children. But another equally important skill is the ability to develop mental alertness to attend to a variety of tasks at the same time.
A simple example of crossing the road or driving a vehicle illustrates this point. Many other situations in our daily life demand mental alertness and multiple attention. There are activities that have been devised, which help children develop this skill of multiple attention.

Language Development among children between age group of


  • 4yrs - 6yrs :- through phonics, recognition and recall techniques. The result is observed in terms of formation recognition and reproduction (oral and written) through images and vocabulary. Creative self indulging activities are conducted to develop interest in learning and increase attention span in a child.
  • 7yrs - 8yrs :- by further developing word bank, increase ability in understanding the fundamentals of sentence construction, book reading, picture reading and developing a story around it, imagination building activities, creative workshop, confidence building games, role playing and much more.
  • 9yrs - 12 yrs:- further strengthening of language is done by encouraging the child to read more and books which is of his/her interest - be it a comic book, story book. This will help in creating child's interest in language. Reading facilitates fluency in speaking and writing, it also helps in increasing vocabulary, proper usage of words.

Numbers is another area where we specialize by planning the key concepts in a logical order which automatically leads a child from one concept to another in a natural way without he being aware of it intentionally.
We have our own unique system and pattern of explaining concepts by linking it with daily life situations. This not only creates interest for a subject but unintentionally systematize itself in the child.
